is this document about some opposing marriage or is it something else?

You are welcome, although I think before Independence, when the castas system was on place, any close family member (grandparents, uncles and aunts, etc.) could oppose a marriage if they thought the bride or the groom was not good enough for their family, especially regarding race or social status. You didn't have to be a very influential person in order to stop a marriage.

Yes, it is about the grandmother (Maria Teresa patron) opposing the marriage of his grandson (Juan Antonio Rubio) with Teresa Zepeda.

First she opposed saying that he was not old enough, so he had to wait until he turned 23. Then she opposed again claiming inequality between him (Spanish blood) and the bride (mulata, formerly a slave and descendant of slave mulatos).

It seems they were not allowed to get married.
