Military information

Por resco16 | 1:51 PM MST, Sáb Noviembre 29, 2008

I'm wondering if it's possible to obtain any old military records. My gg grandfther fought during the Mexican Revolution on the side of Diaz and from what I have been told military life was a way of life for the men in our family due to our relations with General Escobedo so I've always wondered if it was possible that old records were kept. Anyone know?

Military Information

Welester passed this website onto the group for those asking about
finding military information:

Hi Joseph ,

One of the members was asking for a way on how to get military information on a past family member , here is the Mexican goverment site.
archivo@mail.sedena.gob.mx .

What they need to do is put in as much info as they can on the person .

The friend that passed me this info is retired Lt. Col. Ricardo Palmarin .

Please pass this on to the group .

Thanx,
Welester Alvarado

Military Information

Thanks Joseph, and Welester,

I clicked on the link, and it opened up a blank e-mail, so I typed in the info on my grandfather, great-uncle and their brother-in-law. I thought it would bring up a form to fill out, but I had to wing it in my poor Spanish. I hope they respond.

Thanks again,

Emilie

Hi Emile ,

You were right to send the e-mail , make sure that you put as much info as you can to get better results . When I sent my mail I put it to ¨TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN ¨ AQUEIN LE RESPONDE ¨

It took approximately a few weeks and then I was sent information on my dad , it came signed by a general . I thought that was a nice touch .

My friend Tte. Col Ricardo Raul Palmerin is the person who passed me this site . It couldn´t hurt that you mention his name in your request . ( Me paso este direcion el Tte.Col. Ricardo Raul Palmerin )

Good luck ,

Welester

Military Information-Emile

Hi, Welester,

Yes, I did mention that the Col. Palmarin had shared the archivo address with a member of our group.

I told them the names and birthdates and birthplaces of my grandfather, his brother, and their brother-in-law, and mentioned that they had left Jerez in 1913. That is all I know. I don't know if they were Revolutionaries or Federales, nor what battles they fought except it was around Jerez. I mentioned that the reason they left was because they had been scheduled to be executed by a rifle squad. I know through a cousin that they were officers of some kind, but they never spoke to their children about what happened during the Revolucion.

I'll let you know what they say, if they find anything,

Thanks again,

Emilie
