Francisco Rangel & Catalina Masias 1600's

By Ron Robinson | 2:03 PM MST, Sun March 18, 2012

Francisco Rangel & Catalina Masias were married during the mid 1600's but I cant seem to find anything on them. I have searched the aguas. marriage records and the early ones in the Bautismos 1616-1662 records but cant seem to find them anywhere. I also searched this sites postings and havent seen anything about them. Here is what I know about them;

Francisco Rangel & Catalina Masias had at least 4 children
-Francisca Bap. Nov 6, 1664 in Aguas.Aguas. Sagrario
-Agustin Bap. Oct 5, 1668 in Aguas.married Maria Ruiz de Esparza Dec 29 1690/aguas.
-Josepha married #1 Miguel Lopez #2 Antonio Prieto Gallardo Feb 14, 1710/Aguas.
-Juan married Leonor de Medina June 3, 1686/Aguas. (this is my down line)

Does anyone know anything about this couple? Or does anyone have any suggestions as to where I should look for them? Thanks!!

RANGEL-MASIAS, Francisca

Ron,

Francisca (daughter of Francisco Agustin Rangel and Cathalina Masias) was married to Josseph Arellanos, who was aka Marin-Penalosa alias Arellanos, aka Marin y Arellanos. Josseph and Francisca had seven, maybe eight children, all under Arellanos. Problem is, the films of the baptisms, at least the first ones, are backwards, and impossible to read. I have several ancestors with this same strange "Marin-Penalosa, alias Arellanos" annotated surname; they have been very difficult to trace. I wonder what the story behind that "alias" is...

Rangel's 1600's

Gloria,

Thanks for the response, I did not have anything on Francisca except for her baptism. I notice you have "Agustin" for Francisco's middle name. That's the first time I have seen that, can you tell me where that comes from? I know that the name Francisco and Agustin are used about six times each in the next couple generations down. I know what you mean about the strange name changes, some of the female Rangel decendants children use the name "Rangel" instead of the fathers surname. Our ancestors are just full of surprises.

Thanks
Ron

RANGEL, Francisco

Ron, I need to make a correction. I had Francisca RANGEL's father as just Francisco, with no "Agustin." Sorry for the error.

Inverted images?

Gloria

If these images are inverted (do they look like mirror images?), you can use a program like Microsoft Picture Manager to flip (or invert) the image so it is readable; this program comes with Windows Vista or Windows 7 computers (and possibly earlier ones also). You would need to download each image to do it.
