Does anyone know what the best resource is to do searches for passengers that came to Mexico from spain in the 1500's. I know there are multiple volumes of the book,Catálogo de pasajeros a Indias.

Ok, it's hard to find a pdf version of Pasajeros a Indias volume 3. I found volume 5, but it doesn't cover the years that I need. I did however find this great tutorial on how to search the archives and how to print a copy of the document.

i still can't a passenger list on pares mcu though with any surnames fro my tree

You can find some of the catalogs at FamilySearch: log onto the page, select "books," and type in "catalogo de pasajeros. A list should come up; for most of them, you need "additonal permission" or something like that, but I was able to download 3 of them in PDF.
